The Studio

Im always interested in knowing where people create & are inspired. As an illustrator I am a firm believer in the importance of having a comfortable & engaging environment to brew ideas & to have a sense of personal expression hence the reason why I thought sharing a few photos would be (hopefully) interesting.

I read a great quote the other day that simply said - "Make your home as beautiful as you can, & then get on with living." A good reminder in our day to day lives.

I currently work from home in our second bedroom & while it is not as visually dramatic as a wooden floor board, exposed brick, loft apartment - it is home & it is shared with my beautiful wife. Im a blessed man & I wouldnt change it for anything.

A few interesting details... the wooden crates acting as shelves are originally from a cheese factory that closed down just outside of where I grew up in Westenr Australia... the desk is a recycled barn door... alphabet is screen printed & given to us as a wedding present... amber bottles - what more can I say?

Reclaim / NYC / 2012

"Reclaim" Illustrated Stories of Survivors of Sex Trafficking || 2012 Charity Gallery from The Blind Project on Vimeo.

It is my pleasure & privilege to be one of a group of contributing artists to the Reclaim exhibition being held by Designers Against Child Slavery next month in NYC.

The exhibition directly supports The Blind Project which exists to 'empower victims & survivors of the commercial sex trade in South East Asia.'

The next time someone asks... "but what can I do?"

You can start by sharing about these two incredible initiatives making a difference & then ask the question "...now that you are informed, what are you going to do about it?"

One voice.

Down South Drop In at Soggybones

Its a sweet gift to be back in Australia at the moment with my wife and catching up with a heap of great crew. We had the pleasure of making our way down the coast with some of our best mates last week for some time out and was stoked to have the time to drop into the freshly opened Soggybones Skate Shop located in Dunsborough. I had been hanging out to visit in person ever since I had first been introduced to the Soggybones Magazine a number of months ago. In extension to their magazine, brothers Justin and Luke are now offering the lucky cats who live in and around Dunsborough a top grade skate shop to enjoy. Decked out with all things skate, you can also pick up some quality threads, kicks, accesories and of course - the Soggybones Magazine fresh off the press.

Stoked to meet Luke face to face and sponge a photo with him inbetween customers.
