Custom Tattoo Design (Part 2)

In follow up to my last post - I thought you may enjoy viewing the final custom tattoo design that I had recently finished for a close friend. As with all custom tattoo requests - the final submission is a line drawing & also a greyscale (or colour if requested) version for consideration when bringing it to the chosen tattoo artist. It is a real pleasure & honour to have created this design.

Every now & then I will receive a request for a custom tattoo design & Im always stoked to read through the personal background story to hear the heart behind the design. The thought that the these lines will be inked on someone's skin is quite a humbling thought, so I like to take my time & make sure that every detail is as perfect as I can make it. These are the early stages of a current design I am doing for a close friend. Final coming soon!

JDR Painting Custom Logo Design

It has been my recent pleasure to have created this custom logo for Josh Reuser (JDR Painting) servicing the Guelph region in Ontario, Canada. We worked together on creating a logo that translated residential painting as a craft & not only a trade. The brief was to create a design that both refelected the function of the business & also the character & personality of Josh. The results are below...

The Pages That Fill My Sketch Book

All of my designs begin with pen/pencil on paper & I thought you may enjoy some of these beginnings. Some of these sketches are for commercial projects, some are for commissioned illustrations & some are simply for the love of all things hand drawn.

I have discovered that is always important to be pursuing the art of sketching as it sparks the imagination & allows ceativity to flow in a more organic way. These are just some samples... I will be posting the follow up to some of these sketches in the coming weeks if you would like to follow the progression.

JDR Logo Development

I'm currently working on the redesign for - JDR Painting located in Guelph, ON. Josh has just celebrated his first year in business & will be launching his new branding & website over the coming weeks. For the logo - I've started with the sketch layout & will then begin to refine the lines & play with the spacing. Stay tuned... final coming soon!

Golgotha - It Is Finished.

Every illustration has a journey from opening concept/scribbles through to the final inking & colouring. Thought you may enjoy some of the process shots in creating this illustration ' 'Golgotha - It Is Finished'. Hand Lettered Chalk Installation

I was recently contacted & commissioned to create a custom hand lettered backdrop display for a wedding that is taking place in Toronto this coming September. As you would imagine - I accepted with delight & began sketching immediately. The details are being kept pretty stealth for the time being allowing the grand reveal to take place on the 7th of September.

Many congratulations to Zoë & Luke in advance - no doubt it will be a beautiful time of celebration, inspiration & of course - love.
